Art Instruction Opportunity with local professional painter, Yeshe Jackson!
We have a unique opportunity to have local professional artist, Yeshe Jackson, come to our classroom to lead a painting project with our students on Wednesday, May 24. Modeled after his “pint and paint” events, he will provide all of the supplies; paints, canvases, etc. (no pints : ) and lead a step by step painting class for the day, resulting in the students bringing home their one of a kind paintings! He normally charges $35.00 per person, but is giving us a 50% discount. Please click on the link below, as I would like to use our Booster raised class funds for this, which requires your vote. The total cost for 28 students will be $490.00.
THE WEEK AHEAD: MONDAY, APRIL 17-THURSDAY, APRIL 20.
We will meet in the red bricked alley area between the front street parking garage and the back entrance of Marini's candies at 10:00am.
From there, we will begin an artwalk scavenger hunt along primarily Pacific Avenue, and some of the nearby side streets until 11:30.
We will eat lunch (please provide a lunch for your child. We won't have time to go out to eat as a class) between 11:30-12:00.
From 12:00-1:30 we have a tour and art project activity at the Museum of Art and History.
From there, we can walk to Penny Ice Creamery. Please provide your students with $ to purchase an ice cream.

Our annual Make-O-Rama is scheduled for Friday, March 24, from 10-1pm at Quail Hollow Rooms 16, 17, and the Resource Center.
It is so much fun, please consider signing up and offering a "Maker Station" for our students.
How it works:
Parents and/or students come up with an easy to make project, bring the supplies, and set up a station for students to roam to, create something from scratch, and bring it home. In the past we have had draw bots, simple books, reconstructed clothing, mechanical hands, rockets, jewelry, all kind of things!
Check out youtube or google "DIY" creations. There are so many, inexpensive projects to make out there. Consider recycling or upcycling!
The QHIA students will be working in teams teaching some stations. A few of the projects they will be offering to make are butter, a stressball, slime, sock puppets, origami, drawing eyes, t-shirt decorating, and more...
Just respond to this email with your Maker Project.
*Reminder: Please provide your own supplies
Thanks so much for carrying on this great tradition!
Feel free to email me with questions.
